The most famous park in Ukraine is located in Uman, Cherkasy region and called it Sofievka. It was created more than 200 years ago at the insistence of the Polish Count Stanislas Potocki. This park is named in honor of his wife, Sophia, for which it was based and to which he was given in possession.
Currently, the park Sofiyivka is known for its sophisticated compositions of earth, water, sculpture and architecture and amazing scenery.
This park is wonderful at any time of year. You can come here in winter and summer and discover something new, unusual. The main composition of the park is intertwined with the river Kamenka, there was built a number of ponds and pools. It also runs an underground river Acheron, you can even pass it on boat trips.
Only there you can see very interesting artificial fountain, which is located in the upper pool. The water in the fountain start by physical laws. This is due to fluctuations of the water level in the lower and upper ponds. On the entire to this park there are numerous sculptures, pavilions and gazebos.
In the summer the park is immersed in a sea of green. In the western part of the park there is broken rosary, which collected about 150 varieties of roses.
